Are polycarbonate cases for iPod touches protective?

I just bought a 32g 3rd generation iPod touch and was looking at good protective cases. I couldn't find any i like, but then i found some on Amazon but i don't know if polycarbonate case will protect it. Yes, i know that polycarbonate is like shatter proof plastic. Please help or recommend something to me. Btw, i am looking for a white one.Are polycarbonate cases for iPod touches protective?
polycarbonate is shatter-proof so it's probably a good choice. the only thing wrong could be it might get scratched. Are polycarbonate cases for iPod touches protective?
It depends on what kind of protection you want it to be. Plastic will protect it from scratches, but it isn't as good protection if you drop it or something. Plastic offers no shock absorption if it falls. I think rubber or a leather case is better, rubber absorbs shock and the leather ones have a slight padding to them but they're still thin. http://www.accstation.com/ That site has a lot of good cases, there are rubber, neoprene and leather ones that are all good.
